WITNESSES SERIES 2

Filming of the second series of Witnesses (Les Témoins), French pubcaster France 2's excellent crime drama, is due to start on March 28. Marie Dompnier will return as police detective Sandra Winckler but not Thierry Lhermitte, who played Paul Maisonneuve in the first series.

It's Audrey Fleurot (A French Village, Spiral) who'll be alongside Marie Dompnier. She will play Catherine Keemer, a mysterious amnesiac discovered in her car. The day before, 15 men were found dead, frozen and seated in a bus along a country road near the coast. Each of these men was no stranger to Catherine.

Les Témoins was created by Hervé Hadmar & Marc Herpoux (Pigalle, la nuit, Signature). The first series (6 one-hour episodes), written by its creators and directed by Hadmar, aired on France 2 from March to April 2015 with an average of 4.3m viewers (17.4%). The 8-part second series, written once again by the duo Hadmar/Herpoux and helmed by Hervé Hadmar, will be filmed at Mont Saint-Michel and in the Lille region.

Witnesses is produced by Cinétévé and Pictanovo (Les petits meurtres d'Agatha Christie) and is distributed by Newen Distribution (Spiral). Series 1 of Les Témoins was sold to Germany, Belgium, Norway, Australia, Poland or the United Kingdom (Channel 4). It is shown in Italy since yesterday on FoxCrime. Les Témoins is available in France on DVD from Koba Films.
